Events

Here are a few of the events that I have been involved with throughout 2007, which have added greatly to our knowledge and creativity with event planning.  Throughout 2008 my focus has been on concert audio for Christine Anu primarily, a little work with Angus and Julia Stone, The Flood, and Rhonda Burchmore.

  • 2007 Gulf Air  Bahrain Grand Prix

As you can see, even dressing the exterior of a structure such as this one at Manama Grand Prix circuit Bahrain, has quite an effect. Dozens of these small mats were laid out for people to relax on, outside of the main event.

2007 Gulf Air Bahrain, Grand Prix Sponsors Party -

    La Fontainne Art Gallery Manamar

     Christine Anu performance

Above - This is the venue courtyard at night, with minimal white lighting. A massive fountain was the centre feature and as you can see below, lit well as a feature highlight. The surrounding walls were also smothered with strong lighting creating a very surreal atmosphere.

As you see behind me here, with great lighting engineers and lighting equipment.....a great atmosphere!!! Note the fountain now full, and contains small white model grand prix cars

2007 Pacific Dawn naming ceremony - Christine Anu

The Pacific Dawn at sea, and a view of the open deck with Sydney Opera House in the background. Production load in was 10 hours!! As you could imagine when you are that high up, with limited elevators and winding corridors it takes time and meticulous planning for sound and lighting. The performances were to be held on the deck but were relocated on the day, to the 'Dome' due to volatile weather.

    Production supply - Norwest Productions

Above, the entrance to the famous 'Dome' room was highlighted with colour, also utilized as the servery with food lined either side of the entrance. You can see some of the chefs preparing.

The 'Dome' room again above highlighted in purple.........and below in blue for atmosphere. An intricate room with a nightclub kinda vibe!

    2007 IAG Insurance Christmas Party

    Darling Harbour Cafe

Here is a classic. An outdoor cafe, Darling Harbour Sydney. Half of the venue is under the roof of the cafe, the other half exposed on a wooden section of harbourside.

     Stage construction

Stage carpets, backdrops and speakers added

    Lighting placement along cafe roof

Sensibly sized, and adequate sound equip tucked to the side

2007  John Holland Annual Ball - The Nevilles - Sydney Town Hall

A side shot featuring two massive video projection screens

A very, very long shot to offer a view featuring the beautiful and ornate high ceiling of the Sydney Town Hall... lighting truss and mirror ball.

2007 Variety Club Bash - Four Season Hotel Sydney - The Nevilles

A standard and affective practise! Highlighting ceilings for look, and video projection so all can see what's going on.
